HTC and Verizon Wireless today announced the
exclusive DROID DNA by HTC smartphone — the first with a
full HD 1080p display. The DROID DNA by HTC will be available
exclusively through Verizon Wireless through pre-order starting today
and nationwide retail availability comes Tuesday, November 21st.
“People
gravitate to products that offer new experiences, ones that they didn’t
believe could exist just a few short years ago. The DROID franchise
began with products that leaped beyond what people had previously know
to represent new abilities to stay connected, entertained and
empowered,” said Jason Mackenzie, president, HTC Corporation. “With the
DROID DNA by HTC, we’re bringing a number of industry-leading
firsts to the market, most specifically the first 1080p full HD display
allowing people to see their world in a new way through a screen that
captures and plays back life in true HD.”
With
technology rivaling the latest HD TV’s, the DROID DNA by HTC is the
first smartphone in the U.S. to feature a true 1080p HD super LCD 3
display
with Corning Gorilla Glass 2 protection. It boasts an extraordinary
440 pixels per inch (PPI) on an incredible 5-inch screen for
unprecedented in-hand HD experiences that delivers the maximum pixel
clarity available on a smartphone.
Designed
to accentuate the incredible display, the deep black soft-touch back is
understated with the exception of a metallic red camera bezel while
red micro-grilled sidewalls hint at the phone’s DROID heritage and the
power contained within. The smartphone feels
thinner than other devices of a similar size as the edges of the curved
back taper to a mere 4mm to feel comfortable in
hand and fit easily in a pocket.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro
quad-core 1.5 GHz processor paired with the 4G LTE network from Verizon Wireless and a full 2G of RAM allows
people to move faster by enabling seamless the use of multiple apps
simultaneously. With HTC Sense 4+ and Android™
4.1 Jelly Bean,The Droid DNA by HTC is also equipped with a 2,020 mAh
battery and power saving software
Camera improvements
The
DROID DNA by HTC has a camera that delivers fast image
capture, great images even in low-light and an easy interface to capture
stills and video. With an 8-megapixel f/2.0 wide-angle lens, 5-level
automatic flash, backside illuminated sensor (BSI), and superfast
autofocus, you’ll capture amazing moments without the worry of missing a
single one. Instead of choosing between photos and
video, HTC VideoPic™ allows you to capture video and still images at
the same time, and by just holding the shutter button, Continuous
Shooting takes multiple photos at up to four frames per second to catch
all the action.
The
smartphone also includes a new best-in-class front-facing camera with
an 88° ultra-wide angle lens to allow more to be captured in
self-portraits
or group shots. Auto Portrait makes it easier to take photos of
yourself and your friends with a countdown timer so you can focus on
your pose and not the shutter button. The front camera, capable of
capturing 1080p HD video, also provides for a shaper picture
during video chats to share more of your emotion.
Sound
The
DROID DNA by HTC has a unique 2.55 volt built-in headset amplifier and
dedicated amp for the external rear-speaker to help boost the audio
signal
to deliver crystal clear sound with less distortion, even at maximum
volume. The combination of amplified hardware and the sound of Beats Audio truly allows music to be heard the
way the artist intended, and enhances the sound
quality while playing games or watching video.
HTC Sense 4+ & Jelly Bean
The smartphone offers a wealth of easy-to-use and customizable features made possible by HTC Sense 4+ with Google Android
4.1 (Jelly Bean). The ability to personalize
features makes everyday tasks easier and less time consuming and puts
the most important content front and center. HTC Sense 4+ has a
simplified user interface, customizable widgets, and enriched
web browsing features such as saving web pages to view later, even when
offline.
The
DROID DNA by HTC also features embedded wireless charging, making it
easy and convenient to re-charge throughout the day and drop your phone
at the end of the day knowing it will be charged in the morning. With
Near Field Communication (NFC), the phone is able to communicate with
other phones by tapping them together to share business cards or music
playlists.
Availability
The
DROID DNA by HTC will be available exclusively from Verizon Wireless
through a pre-order starting today at www.verizonwireless.com/droiddna,
and available online and in stores nationwide beginning Tuesday,
November 21st for $199.99 with a two-year customer agreement.
2 Comments:
Droid DNA offer high-end hardware specification and this the best phone to buy but it also has few limitation like iPhone no battery change option, micro-sd card option, etc. Better to go for Nexus 4, Note 2.
Android App Development
Great information there, Thank you for the share. I thought of also sharing about my new CHOE Qi Wireless Charger for Galaxy S4 I9500 (Wireless Charging Pad and Wireless Charging Receiver Included) which I bought at Amazon for $32.99
Works with any Qi-enabled device through an adapter or an embedded chip
Power Source: AC Adaptor plugs into charging pad
Freedom of Placement: No annoying magnets to align or secret spots to find in order to charge your device. The wireless charging pad is Qi standard, you can charge any Qi-enabled device today, tomorrow and beyond with Light indicator to show charging status.
It works well with Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphone.
